Overview

KidSteps is built with privacy at its core. Your child's developmental data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

COPPA Compliance

KidSteps is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal information from children under 13 or from any user. No data is transmitted to any server.

Data Storage

All data you enter — including child profiles, milestone progress, notes, and photos — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

If you are signed into iCloud, your data syncs automatically across your devices via Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data is stored in your private iCloud database — Apple manages this infrastructure and the developer has no access to it.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. Specifically:

  • No personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • No account creation required
  • No location data
  • No usage analytics or behavioral tracking
  • No device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • No crash reports sent externally
  • No cookies or web tracking

Photos

KidSteps allows you to attach photos to milestones. Photos are stored entirely on your device (and your private iCloud if sync is enabled). No images are uploaded to any server.

Third-Party Services

KidSteps does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The following third-party services are used:

  • RevenueCat: Used for subscription management and purchase validation. RevenueCat receives purchase transaction data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple CloudKit / iCloud: If you enable iCloud sync, your data syncs via Apple's infrastructure. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

KidSteps does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is designed for parents and caregivers. The app is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. There is no data to share — everything stays on your device.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete individual child profiles, milestones, and notes from within the app. Uninstalling KidSteps removes all app data from your device.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
